Man on Highwire Tim Teebken

Thoughts from the Ledge

I’ve never been to Madagascar
I think to myself
All the while knowing I will never get there
It just sounded interesting for a fleeting moment
The air is chilly up here I say to myself
My equilibrium in jeopardy
It’s always a balancing act you know
They all want us to have good posture
Shall I jump?  I say out loud
Or stand here and admire the view?
I can end my mind’s bedlam
With just a few steps off the ledge
Ah such temptation
For a few short moments I could fly I say to myself
How glorious that would be
Freedom in a split second choice
It’s quite a quandary you know
